“Dinner in town 4/4 - It’s here!”
I painted this illustration for my solo exhibition Itadakimasu at Outré Gallery in Melbourne, Australia.
This series of 4 paintings show our characters Yû and Rei, 2 gourmand little ghosts, heading to a restaurant and making a few stops on the way.
In this image, they just arrived at the restaurant that Yû wanted to try. It serves Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki and is called Hera-Obake (combination of “hera” which is the name of the spatula used to cut okonomiyaki and “obake” which is a type of creature in Japanese folktales).

🇫🇷 “Dîner en ville 4/4 - C’est ici!”
Tableau réalisé pour mon exposition solo Itadakimasu chez Outré Gallery à Melbourne, Australie. Cette série de 4 tableaux a pour personnages Yû et Rei, 2 petits fantômes gourmands qui se dirigent vers un restaurant et font quelques haltes en chemin.
Sur cette image, ils viennent d’arriver au restaurant que Yû voulait tester. Il sert des okonomiyaki à la façon d’Hiroshima et se nomme Hera-Obake (combinaison de “hera” qui est le nom de la spatule avec laquelle on coupe l’okonomiyaki et de “obake” qui désigne un type de créatures du folklore japonais).
