Takotarô is one of our original characters. He is inspired by the mascots that can be found on the fronts of stalls serving takoyaki, these ball-shaped snacks made of a wheat flour-based batter and stuffed with octopus.
Takotarô’s name is composed of the Japanese word “tako” which means “octopus” and the suffix “tarô ” which means “eldest son” and is added to many Japanese given names.
Here he is shown playing taiko, which is the japanese word for drum.

🇫🇷 Takotarô est un de nos personnages originaux. Il s’inspire des mascottes qu’on peut trouver sur les devantures de stands de takoyaki, ces petites boulettes de pâte, fourrées au poulpe.
Le nom Takotarô est composé du mot japonais “tako” qui signifie “poulpe” et du suffixe “tarô” qui signifie “fils aîné” et qui est ajouté à de nombreux prénoms japonais.
On peut le voir ici jouant du taiko, qui signifie “tambour” en japonais.
